Conventions of a Music Video Katy Perry 'Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)
Audience Profile
For my audience profile i have made a spider diagram explaining the specifics of my target audience. Althought the main focus is on young adults 16-26 years, The genre of music also can attract an older audience as the acoustic folk genre can appeal to an older audience of 40+ years because it has a calm laid-back feel and isnt the loud pop/RnB thats around today. The inside cover doesnt show a strong relationship with the album however it is common to have pictures of the artists like this one when singing or on stage which can also give the genre of the band, this connoting an indie/rock genre. The black background and font writing also connote the genre but is more simplisctic with just the names of people in the band and extra information of the album/contacting them/record label etc.

The album cover is bright yellow like a warning sign to catch the readers attention. The album name 'Stars of CCTV' is connoted throught the cover like the bright yellow backround. The picture of the cctv camera also connotes the idea of cctv but is in shadow to show that maybe its hidden and these 'stars' dont know that theyre being watched. It also gives the idea that we are always watched and can make the reader feel that maybe they like the band are the stars creating a relationship with the audience and band and gives a rebellious feeling like the band are keeping themselves hidden from these cctv cameras. The font is in the style that you'd find in secret security files which adds to this secret and again makes the reader feel rebellious. The black font stands out from the bright yellow background to draw the audiences attention to it. On the back it has the average information of websites,copyright, logos, record labels etc.

The album cover and the inside picture show a relationship with the shadow of the cctv camera and the cctv camera image for the inside showing that theyre being watched by the cctv camera on the album cover. The picture shows the band being secretive and rebellious but also looks like an image that would be in a top secret file with the time, name of the camera and covering their eyes in the image. The image also gives the effect of being a cctv camera by being in black and white and distortions with colours and the image in certain parts.
Kings of Leon Magazine Advert
This advert gives a relaxing mood to the new album as if they're getting away from all of the hype of the album before this and going for more peaceful relaxing mood. The picture connotes the title of the album name 'Come Around Sundown' with palm trees to create an image of a relaxing beach at sundown. The colours orange,brown,red and purple also connote sundown. The font and colouring of the font isnt harsh to the eyes, its peaceful which I think will make it stand out more in a magazine. Titles etc are kept to a minimum so they advert isnt busy to again connote the relaxation.
I have decided to research into magazines that the genre of my song would be advertised/talked about in. It aso helped to get more in depth information on the the audience of my song which would be the audience/readers of the magazines.
Q Magazine
Q Magazine descibes itself as a "arbiter of quality music" and "sits at the heart of a cross-platform brand that discovers great music of substance for its consumers". Q Magazine covers a wide range of music, these include indie, old school rock, rap and many more. Q likes to show readers new upcoming artist to the music industry which i have seen especially reading them myself.

Q's audience is composed of passionate, engaged and open minded music fans driven to continually discover new music - and to use this lust for discovery to influence their friends. The audience is split 75% male to 25% female and is affluent (with 68% ABC1).
Storyboard
For my video I will be doing a narrative. The narrative is about a girl leaving her love begind in the countryside to go to the city. Throughout there will be a contrast between the two characters and her setting, however the story turns around when the boy leaves the setting he is in to be in hers and to find her.
